Sarah Gadon joined her costar Keira Knightley at the TIFF premiere of “A Dangerous Method” tonight wearing a stunning black dress. Her glamorous Jason Wu gown, from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection, with sheer lace yoke and a gorgeous embroidered gold belt is a fabulous choice if you want to make a red carpet statement–although there wasn’t a red carpet in sight in this case.
After somewhat of a less-than-stellar fashion run while promoting this film, as well as “The Moth Diaries”, during the Venice Film Festival last month, I was both surprised and pleased to see her in the Wu gown that I fell in love with during New York Fashion Week this past February.
To add to the old Hollywood glamour, Sarah’s hair was pinned up in soft retro waves. She further played it up with a vibrant red lip. As for the shoes, Sarah wore two-tone gold metallic blocked open toe, hidden platform Giuseppe Zanotti leather pumps; the same silhouette (without the ankle strap) of the shoe pictured below.
As amazing as this look is, the statement the dress made on the catwalk failed to show on the concrete. I wish Sarah had been able to really ‘strut’ in it and show off the thigh high split in the skirt.
One thing for certain is that Sarah is someone I’ll be paying closer attention to in the future. I can’t wait until the promotional tour begins next year for “Cosmopolis”, in which she stars opposite Robert Pattinson.
