Christina Ricci wore a very interesting and intense design for the 2012 MET Gala on Monday night.

The “Bel Ami” actress hit the red carpet with Thakoon Panichgul in a custom made cocktail dress that featured black netting over a ivory charmeuse dress.

The pale fabric asymmetrically pleated at the bodice before traveling down into a pencil cut dress. As for the back, the design blossomed into a huge ribbon bow with strips that pooled at the floor behind Christina.

As definitely one of those “you either love it or you hate it” looks, I can’t help but think this was a pain in the butt to get comfortable in when she sat down for dinner inside.

With a sleek bun and diamond earrings, Christina finished off her look with black patent “Suki” pumps by Walter Steiger.

What did you think of Christina’s MET look? Was it a HIT or a MISS?
