Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, joined her Royal family members yesterday in London for the Trooping the Colour ceremony and the Horse Guards Parade, held at Buckingham Palace.

Prince William’s beautiful bride wore an ice blue version of this draped open back, long-sleeve embroidered Erdem dress, which comes from the Resort 2012 collection and was originally presented with colorful embroidery on ivory.

I adore the style of the dress, and the way it perfectly matched her Jane Corbett cocktail hat, but I have to say that I think the color was a bit too light on her. We all know that Kate likes to keep a chic, demure appearance, but I much prefer her rich and bright dresses to a pale palette.

She completed her look with full, wavy tresses, a dove grey minaudière — and I can only assume she wore her favorite nude LK Bennett pumps. However, I’d love to be proven wrong.

Did you like this light blue dress on the Duchess?
