The approach taken made it a look that’s easy to take from the red carpet and recreate on yourself for an evening out. There wasn’t anything heavy and over done, but it was fresh, glamorous and striking all the same.
First things first, to prep Nikki’s skin, Kate hydrated it using CHANEL Hydra Beauty Gel Crème. When it came time for the foundation, she applied CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 where needed, blending with a beauty blender sponge until it melted into the skin.
Under Nikki’s cheek bones, and around her hairline, Kate applied Guerlain Terracotta Moisturising Bronzing Powder to sculpt, and then she added small dabs of CHANEL Powder Blush in ‘In Love’ for added warmth to the apples of her cheeks.
Now it was time for my favorite part — the eyes!
“I started by smoking out the outer corners of her upper and lower lid with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in ‘Noir’. Next, I applied CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in ‘Le Bronze’ to the outer socket and melted everything together with a soft domed brush. On the lid I chose CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in ‘Abstraction’ (Available November 2012), which is sort of a rose gold shade, and I used it to add a highlight to the entire lid.”
Kate curled Nikki’s lashes before applying a generous coat of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in ‘Noir’, to the upper and lower lashes. For the finishing touch, Kate wanted to keep Nikki’s lips soft with a nude, tan palette. To achieve this, she used Cle de Peau Extra Silky Lipstick in the ‘208’ color.
