Sarah Gadon captivated on-lookers at the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival last month where she premiered two of her films during the two-week long chic festival. Though Sarah seems to prefer classically glam looks to heavy embellishments and sexy, trendy cutouts, her makeup and hairstyles tell a different story. I like the way Sarah mixes youthful 'dos with her retro dresses and the best part of it, is that these styles are very easy to replicate! Hairstylist Marcus Francis helped Sarah get ready for her close-up at the press events for the films "Antiviral" and "Cosmopolis", and shared his tips with The Fashion Court on how you can recreate two of her stylish on-trend looks.
Tom Sturridge was ever the supportive friend when he joined his pal Kristen Stewart at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Robert Pattinson's movie "Cosmopolis" this past Friday in Cannes, France. Robert had attended Kristen and Tom's premiere for "On The Road" earlier in the week. The two posed on the rainy red carpet where Tom donned a black Fall/Winter 2012 Yves Saint Laurent tuxedo with peaked leather lapels, a white dress shirt and a black bow tie. It seems YSL might be Tom's go-to choice lately. I love the leather elements; it gives the classic style an instant modern flair with a bit of edge.
Kristen Stewart was the epitome of a red carpet sexy Hollywood starlet when she arrived at the glamorous premiere of "Cosmopolis", held during the Cannes Film Festival last week. After rocking a ethereal look at the premiere gala of her own film "On The Road" earlier in the week, the 22-year-old actress opted for a sleek, sultry appearance when celebrating her man Robert Pattinson's big night. She looked stunning! Makeup artist Beau Nelson, who often works with Ms. Stewart, helped her achieve a bold red lip and shimmering complexion. "For Kristen's red hot Reem Acra dress, I wanted to do something special and very modern Hollywood." Follow Beau's guide to recreate Kristen's look on yourself!
Pregnancy sure agrees with Reese Witherspoon! The 36-year-old actress, who's currently due with her third child, was glowing and glamorous when she attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of her film "Mud" wearing a breathtaking midnight blue, custom-made Versace gown that floated around her figure. Reese's ensemble was practically perfect all the way around; a breath of fresh air. Hairstylist Giannandrea played a large part in Reese's flawless red carpet moment! "My idea was to create a modern version of the French twist for Reese, a Versace sapphire Goddess!" Mission accomplished.
Kristen Stewart made a stunning entrance on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of "Cosmopolis" wearing a sexy siren red gown by Reem Acra. With red lathered lips and a dramatic, full lace back, the 22-year-old beauty needed the perfect hairstyle to put the finishing touch on the foxy look. Hairstylist Giannandrea was inspired to give Kristen a "modern romanticism" feel to compliment her overall look. The result? An enchanting twisted approach that gathered at the middle and fell softly down her back with just a pop of volume at the front. At first glance, this may seem like a very difficult style to recreate, but Giannandrea knows the tricks behind the 'do and kindly shared the step-by-step process.
Now that you know how to recreate Kirsten Dunst's romantic make-up from the "On The Road" photocall during the Cannes Film Festival, why not steal her hairstyle while you're at it? In fact, The Fashion Court will give you two ultra-beautiful looks to choose from! Kirsten and her hairstylist Marcus Francis were totally inspired by the beautiful flower-embellished Dolce & Gabbana headband that she wore with her white dress, and wanted to create a look that was "flirty, undone, with a bit of whimsical" to play off the head-piece. Marcus prepped her damp hair with Phyto Phytovolume Actif Maximizing Volume Spray before blow drying with a boar's hair round brush. He then sectioned her tresses on the side from the front with a middle part down the back in order to keep the hairlines smooth and allow for the flyaways to appear elsewhere.
Kirsten Dunst looked beautiful at the photocall and press conference for her film "On The Road" during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival earlier this month. The 30-year-old actress rocked a 3D lace white cocktail dress from Dolce & Gabbana with creamy pumps and a pretty floral headpiece woven into her braided hairstyle. Everything was so feminine and soft about her look that her light make-up palette complimented the mid-morning chic ensemble. Kirsten's makeup artist Adam Breuchaud was inspired to create a "soft sculpted eye and brow for this demure daytime look." "Silky luminous beige and rusty rose reflect the light and help open up the eye," so after applying shadow in those soft colors he lifted and defined her lashes using Diorshow Blackout Mascara. Adam then groomed Kirsten's brows with MAC Eye Brows Crayon in 'Fling' before brushing though them with the Dior Brow Gel. These steps helped shape the finish.
Emily Hampshire joined her "Cosmopolis" costars and crew on Friday night for the red hot premiere of the film, which was held during the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival in France. The Canadian actress looked super chic in a long-sleeve black gown by Stella McCartney with a draped, fully open, plunging back. This dress comes from McCartney's Spring 2012 collection. Emily looked beautiful! I like her elegant up 'do, which kept the back view of the dress totally on display without distraction.
Rose McGowan was among the attendees at last week's Cinema Against AIDS gala thrown by amfAR during the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cap D'Antibes, France. The "Conan the Barbarian" actress arrived at Hotel Dup Cap wearing a bright bubblegum pink gown from the Fall 2010 Atelier Versace collection that was contoured with pink sequin paillette straps. The dress is very pretty, but I think Rose is a bit too busty for the top of the bodice.
Last Tuesday, while serving as a jury member for the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, Diane Kruger stepped out for a seafood dinner with her beau Josh Jackson wearing a fun Versus dress! The 35-year-old actress wore her long blonde hair up in a messy ponytail to show off the tiny v-neck and puffed cap-sleeves of this kaleidoscope floral print dress. While this print is featured a lot in the Fall 2012 collection, Diane selected the aqua blue and black cut-out mini dress.
