Cover Girl: Blake Lively Suits Up in a Red Tux for Marie Claire’s July Issue

Since 2007, BLAKE LIVELY has been popping up on your television screens every week as the troubled rich girl Serena van der Woodsen on The CW’s “Gossip Girl”, but as she gears up for the fifth and final season, she’s using her summer to promote a blossoming future in film.

The 24-year-old actress covers the July 2012 issue of Marie Claire — photographed by Txema Yeste — and chats about her new film “Savages”, men, and of course, fashion! Psst, she really doesn’t have a stylist.

“My assistant will call fashion houses for me, but I always pick the outfit, shoes, jewelry, and a lot of times I do my own hair and makeup for events. Sometimes I think, God, why do I do this to myself? It’s so much extra work!”

Fashion editor Nina Garcia hooked Blake up with a red silk-satin long tuxedo dress from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection by Balmain for the cover, but inside the issue you’ll find her in dazzling dresses by Marios Schwab, Jenny Packham, Antonio Berardi, and more!  See a stylish run-down below.

 

For the landing cover inside of the issue, Blake shows a side profile of a gorgeous metallic peplum Fall 2012 gown by Antonio Berardi with a wrist full of bold statement bangles! There definitely needed to be a full shot of this look.

 

Blake strikes a pose in a Marios Schwab crystal embroidered dress. This is the same frock that Jessica Chastain wore to the Tony Awards this year. With blowing wavy tresses, metallic gold nails and a Lorraine Schwartz ring — Blake kept this look much more modest with a Rituel by Carine Gilson bra.

 

Thank goodness Yeste captured this black sequin liquid long sleeve gown by Jenny Packham in all of its full-length glory. The dripping gold embroidery at the shoulders matched the gold pyramids on Blake’s Giuseppe Zanotti t-strap sandals — which she hiked up the dress to show off. Blake’s jewelry is from Lorraine Schwartz.

 

Sporting a layered Lorraine Schwartz necklace, Blake layered a Calvin Klein Collection perforated Fall 2012 skirt over a black leather combo Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit. Sexy and chic!

 

Blake relaxes in the sunset wearing a slinky gold sequin-mesh patterned slip dress by Douglas Ferguson. I love the way the light peering through the window reflects off of Blake’s frock and hair.
