Product Review

FALL. IS. HERE. My favorite season has arrived, and I couldn't be happier. I'm ready for boots, sweater weather, and this brand new nail polish from Essie's Fall 2016 "Kimono-Over" Collection! For the autumn season, Essie has delivered a sweet new Japanese inspired collection featuring stunning shades of purple, orange, blue, grey and light pink -- yes, even pink. You'll definitely want to check these (and my review) out below!
Review: OPI 'Washington D.C.' Fall/Winter 2016 Collection

Review: OPI ‘Washington D.C.’ Fall/Winter 2016 Collection

Product Review

Typically one of the most anticipated things of autumn each year is the new season of "Scandal", but the political hit ABC drama starring Kerry Washington doesn't return to TV until January, so that leaves something else to countdown to -- the Presidential election this November. OPI capitalized off of both (heh, get it?) by creating an unbelievable fall nail lacquer collection celebrating both with the OPI Washington, D.C. Fall/Winter 2016 Collection. This 15-shade line (which includes 3 Limited Edition colors) is inspired by "Scandal" while also being right on time for Americans to swipe their nails in one of the shades as they cast their vote for the next President of the United States this November. OPI thought of everything -- I guess they were channeling their inner Olivia Pope. I got my hands on the line to give you a peak of all of the new colors, and I think you're going to love them as much as I do. The only problem I see is that there just aren't enough days in the season to rock them all. But, hey, that's where nail art comes in.

2016 Golden Globes – WISH LIST

The 73rd Golden Globe Awards are happening this weekend so, in anticipation for it, I've prepared my annual fashion wish list! I typically pick individual dresses that I would like to see on a particular nominee or presenter, but considering more than fifty percent of the red carpet ends up featuring custom-designed gowns, I thought I would try something new this year. I've selected gowns I'm hoping to see in general -- some of them could work for a few different ladies therefore I didn't assign them to anyone. More often than not, my picks have made it on the carpet in the past...just on someone other than the lady I imagined it for. I'm sure we'll see nominee Jennifer Lawrence in Dior - whether it's custom or from the Fall 2015 Haute Couture runway, and I imagine fellow nominee Alicia Vikander will select a Louis Vuitton look; presenter Kate Hudson might return to the carpet in another Versace number while Lady Gaga could rock a bespoke Brandom Maxwell or Tom Ford stunner, but for the ladies who nab a design straight from the runway...hopefully it will be one (or two, or three--or all) of my favorites below. If you'd like to see (and know) what the stars are definitely wearing, then I invite you to follow me on the big night (Sunday, January 10th) on Twitter [ @TheFashionCourt ] as I ID the celebrity style on the red carpet starting at 6:30pm EST! Remember to check back here at TheFashion-Court.com after the show starts for recaps, fashion details, and verdicts.
Review: OPI 'Venice' Fall/Winter 2015 Collection

Review: OPI ‘Venice’ Fall/Winter 2015 Collection

Product Review

It's been a few weeks since the weather cooled off from the blistering summer days, and in just a few more we'll be expecting the bitterness of winter but, in the meantime, I'm basking in all things fall; from my wardrobe, to my daily pumpkin spice latte, right down to my nail polish. Thanks to OPI's latest autumnal collection, I'll be stylin' right through the season. OPI's Venice Fall/Winter 2015 Collection features 15 polishes inspired by the Baroque period decadence with a gorgeous variety of vampy deep shades to pearlescent hues and soft tones. I'm usually the type to stick to my dark colors throughout the season, but sometimes it's nice to add a soft palette to my look here and there during the "'ber months" (as we call them in my house). Check out all of the colors below, and find out how they stack up against each other.
Review: OPI Infinte Shine 'Soft Shades' 2015 Collection

Review: OPI Infinte Shine ‘Soft Shades’ 2015 Collection

Product Review

OPI is unleashed a major gel 12 polish collection called Infinite Shine over the summer, but before the release, they had given a little sneak peak with the OPI Infinite Shine Soft Shades collection; the 6 pastel shades include a pair of crisp whites, a peachy beige, a pale pinks, a subtle blue, and a shimmery pale grey. You may have seen the polish around in stores (they came out in May 2015), but I didn't get my hands onto them until recently. I was very grateful to receive the collection to review, but, unfortunately, I didn't get the setting gel so I avoided putting them on my nails to test them out. I'll pick one up at a later date but, in the meantime, I wanted to show you all the pretty colors in the collection -- it's a good thing I had my trusty nail polish tester wheel to display them. Check out all of the colors below!
Review: Deborah Lippmann 'Roar' Fall 2015 Collection

Review: Deborah Lippmann ‘Roar’ Fall 2015 Collection

Product Review

I always get super pumped for fall collections; give them all to me -- shoes, clothes, makeup, decorations, my drink at Starbucks...and most of all? The nail polish. What makes me even happier is when brands play with traditional deep crisp tones of the season instead of trying to give us bright colors of summer while telling us they're 'alternative fall colors'. No, that's not going to work for me and I'm pretty sure it doesn't work for other autumn color lovers. But, you know what? Deborah Lippmann gets that, and that's why she's developed a supreme palette of stunning fall tones wrapped up in a fierce collection - the Fall 2015 ROAR Collection, to be exact.
Review: OPI 'Hawaii' Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Review: OPI ‘Hawaii’ Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Product Review

Longer days, rays of sunshine and afternoons of relaxing on the sand are just around the corner, but you can get a head start now by prepping your fingers and toes with the OPI Spring/Summer 2015 Hawaii Collection! Yes, you read that correctly -- the iconic polish brand is taking your nails on a cruise through paradise with 12 gorgeous colors (including 7 cremes and 4 shimmers and 1 glitter) that will have you dreaming of days on the beach in Honolulu. I didn't have to wait long to try each color out because the cool crew at OPI sent the collection my way for a swatch review that I can share with all of you! Check out all of the bright shades below..
Review: Essie 'Flowerista' Spring 2015 Collection

Review: Essie ‘Flowerista’ Spring 2015 Collection

The winter blues have kept me down for too long so I'm eager for spring to hop into full swing! Some gals like to celebrate a new season with their hair color or their lipstick--I get ready for the transition with my nail polish, which is why I was pretty excited to see some of the polishes from the new Essie Spring 2015 "Flowerista" Collection while I was out running errands recently. One of the coolest things about the "Flowerista" collection is that it marks the first line that Essie collaborated on with fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, the first Global Color Designer for the iconic nail polish brand. Known for her eclectic aesthetic, I'm not shocked that I instantly fell for the fun variety of colors; whether your style is classic or grunge, avant-garde or super girly, there's definitely a color I think you will dig. Check out the feedback I had to share on the colors I scooped up!
Review: Morgan Taylor 'Cinderella' Spring 2015 Collection

Review: Morgan Taylor ‘Cinderella’ Spring 2015 Collection

Product Review

Bring the magic of Disney's live-action feature film "Cinderella" to your fingertips this spring with the help of Morgan Taylor. The professional nail lacquer teamed up with the 'house of mouse' to create a gorgeous collection of both classic and gel polish to celebrate the fairytale---including an array of lush cremes and magical shimmers. Being a total fanatic of all things Disney and a lover of Morgan Taylor polishes, I was beyond thrilled to test out this collection and share it with all of you. "Cinderella" hits theaters next month, so there's plenty of time to get your hands on the line and choose a color to wear to the theater as you watch the magic unfold on the big screen on March 13th.

2015 OSCARS - WISH LIST

2015 OSCARS – WISH LIST | Part 1

As a major movie buff and fashion aficionado, the Academy Awards are easily one of my favorite nights in fashion. There's a huge list of stars expected to be there so, needless to say, I had to limit my list to under 30 people...and that was hard because I have a lot of red carpet wishes. From presenters like Lupita Nyong'o to performers (cough::Lady Gaga::cough) and nominated actresses--such as: Keira Knightley, Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore and Emma Stone, you have a lot to browse. I hope you enjoy getting a glimpse of what I hope to see on Oscar night! I invite you to follow me on the big night (Sunday, February 22nd) on Twitter [ @TheFashionCourt ] as I ID the celebrity style on the red carpet starting at 6pm EST! Remember to check back here at TheFashion-Court.com after the show starts for recaps, fashion details, and verdicts. You can also find Oscar style on Facebook.com/TheFashionCourt!
