Today is officially the first day of autumn, so I figured what’s a better time to share my review of the new Essie ‘Heart of the Jungle’ Fall 2020 Collection?! The 6-shade assortment features beautifully rich seasonal colors, including a shimmery marigold and a deep olive green that’s the namesake of the line.
I really enjoyed doing this swatch review because I appreciate a solid fall palette, and I think this one *nails* it…but more on that below! The line is now available, so check out my review — find your favorites, which might be all of them, and fall in love with your nails this season!
Don’t Be Spotted — A gorgeous pearlized orange that shimmers in any light! This shade is a perfect color to transition from summer to fall, and I love it! Applied in two coats.
Cargo Cameo — A pearlized warm milk chocolate brown. This is absolutely flawless in look and application.
Only two coats needed.
Heart of the Jungle — Love this green! It’s a bit darker on the nail than in the bottle, but that’s not an issue at all. A tone that’s perfect shade for fall, and again, great formula, with two easy coats for coverage.
Waterfall in Love — I thought this was just another blue, but I can’t deny how much I love it! It’s a little darker once on the nail, and with a hint of purple tone. Bonus: This was a one-coater for me. However, for the photos, I applied two coats.
Swing of Things — It wouldn’t be a autumn collection without my go-to shade, a deep berry purple, that’s so very pretty. This was another great formula and one that is a touch darker than it looks in the bottle, in fact, it’s even darker than it looks in the photos.
Adrenaline Brush — This is the first unproblematic red I’ve used in awhile. What I mean by that is I had absolutely not one issue with application. Two even and smooth coats, I believe I could have even gotten away with one.
VERDICT: I feel like this is a great palette of autumn colors. I’m not crazy about creme finishes, only because I like to rock some sparkle or shimmer on my nails, however, these are amazing creme colors with fantastic formulas. Since the switch to a wider brush, I haven’t had any issues with application of Essie colors, and I love it! Any of these would be a great choice to grab, but my favorites are hands down Don’t Be Spotted and Cargo Cameo!
