Review: Deborah Lippmann 'Roar' Fall 2015 Collection

I always get super pumped for fall collections; give them all to me — shoes, clothes, makeup, decorations, my drink at Starbucks…and most of all? The nail polish. What makes me even happier is when brands play with traditional deep crisp tones of the season instead of trying to give us bright colors of summer while telling us they’re ‘alternative fall colors’. No, that’s not going to work for me and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work for other autumn color lovers. But, you know what? Deborah Lippmann gets that, and that’s why she’s developed a supreme palette of stunning fall tones wrapped up in a fierce collection – the Fall 2015 ROAR Collection, to be exact.

Review: Deborah Lippmann 'Roar' Fall 2015 CollectionSHE WOLF

She Wolf — This is a nice neutral taupe creme; a great transition color from summer to fall. I found the formula to be very good with an even smooth application. I used two coats for full coverage.

Miss Independent — Ah, such a gorgeous dark and vampy berry creme –I love it! This is one of those deep purples that looks black on–much darker than it looks in the bottle. I love dark seasonal tones, especially berry/wine colors. The first coat was a bit blotchy after applying but, if you’re careful, two coats should be good for full coverage.

Can’t Be Tamed — This is a gold and holo glitter in a brown tinted base. I wasn’t sure if this was a topper or full coverage glitter so I tried both (I layered it over Miss Independent in the second photo), and I think I prefer it on its own to using as a topper. Formula wise, it was pretty thick, but not hard to apply at all. I was able to get away with two coats for coverage but if you have longer nails, three may be needed.

Review: Deborah Lippmann 'Roar' Fall 2015 CollectionRESPECT

Respect — A beautiful brick red creme that’s great for the season. I really like this one, although application was a bit of pain. The formula on this one was a little thinner than the rest and flooded my cuticles more than once. Even with that issue, I only used one coat for coverage. I love a one coat red…a winner in my book.

VERDICT: Overall, I really love all of these; great colors and base shades for those who like to do nail art. I’d recommend getting the whole collection, and you’re set for Fall. (DeborahLippmann.com is offering 20% off when you buy the collection now)
