MY VERDICT: As the first black woman to ever receive the “Billboard Icon Award”, last night at the BBMAs was both an exciting and historical evening for Janet — who hit the red carpet wearing a casual approach to a ball gown, which is the type of thing we’ve come to admire from Ms. Jackson’s style. Janet donned a white cap sleeve tee paired with a custom shimmering mint skirt by Rami Kadi, which she offset with a brown grommet belt. I’m in love with this low-key approach that she amplified with a plethora of gold accents.
Janet rocked oversize gold hoop earrings, a chain link necklace and matching bracelets on both wrists–all by Neil Lane before putting the finishing touches on the look with a trendy half top-knot hairstyle.
