Zoe Saldana in Valentino | “Blood Ties” Premiere – 2013 Cannes Film Festival

Zoe Saldana in Valentino | 'Blood Ties' Premiere - 2013 Cannes Film FestivalPhotos: Zimbio; Style.com
WHO: Zoe Saldana
WHERE & WHEN: “Blood Ties” 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival Premiere on May 20, 2013.
WEARING: Valentino dress, Christian Louboutin shoes & David Yurman jewelry.

MY VERDICT: There’s never a dull fashion moment when Zoe Saldana is around. There are times when she’s a risk-taker, and then the next thing you know she’s opting for pure, classic elegance. That’s exactly what happened at the Cannes Film Festival today where Zoe opted for a playful polka-dot skirt, colorblock top and colorful pumps at the photocall for her movie “Blood Ties”—only to hit the red carpet for the premiere in a lovely embroidered Valentino gown.

Zoe wore the blue-grey silk chiffon full length dress from the Fall 2013 collection with brocade embroidery throughout the sheer overlay and thick white panel straps. The design of the gown is refreshingly unique even though the silhouette is timeless.

She wore her long brunette tresses only partially gathered in the back, which showcased her David Yurman pear-shaped drop earrings. A red matte lip was Zoe’s beauty choice for the second time today.

Zoe Saldana in Emanuel Ungaro | “Blood Ties” Photocall – 2013 Cannes Film Festival

WHO: Zoe Saldana
WHERE & WHEN: “Blood Ties” 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival Photocall on May 20, 2013.
WEARING: Emanuel Ungaro top and skirt, Oscar Tiye shoes, and jewelry from Jamie Wolf & Melinda Maria.

MY VERDICT: Zoe Saldana ended her run on the “Star Trek Into Darkness” press tour by heading to the French Riviera to promote her upcoming movie “Blood Ties” with costar Marion Cotillard and director Guillaume Canet during the Cannes Film Festival. The 32-year-old actress looked beautiful in a Emanuel Ungaro black and white blouson sleeve top adorned with gold buttons at the wrist, which she partnered with a matching wrapped pokla-dot skirt that included more of the button detail traveling down the side.

Both pieces come from Ungaro’s brilliant Fall 2013 collection filled with bold patterns. | continue reading..

Kimberly Perry in Mark Zunino | 2013 Billboard Music Awards

WHO: Kimberly Perry
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, 2013.
WEARING: Mark Zunino

MY VERDICT: Kimberly joined her brothers (and The Band Perry bandmates) on the blue carpet for the Billboard Music Awards in a peek-a-boo embroidered Mark Zunino gown. The Country singer wore a full-length ivory gown from Zunino’s red carpet evening collection, which featured a pretty—albeit racy–cap sleeve lace illusion bodice with pewter and champagne pearl embroidery.

To play off the ethereal feel of the gown, Kimberly had her long blonde curls styled in a effortlessly elegant chignon.

She accessorized with diamond jewelry and a glittering clutch to match. Shimmery shadow and a pink pout completed her look.

Christina Aguilera in Versace & Hervé Léger | 2013 Billboard Music Awards

WHO: Christina Aguilera
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, 2013.
WEARING: Versace top, Hervé Léger by Max Azria skirt & Christian Louboutin shoes.

MY VERDICT: Christina joined Pitbull on the Billboard Music Awards stage to perform their hit single “Feel This Moment”, it was also the perfect opportunity for Xtina to debut her newly toned physique. The singer looked great in a black Hervé Léger by Max Azria “Sabine” a-line skirt that she partnered with a Versace long sleeve cardigan top.

The silhouette was flattering and showcased her curves in the best light—and I like how Christina’s Versace belt with micro-fringe added a little flavor to the otherwise simple outfit. | continue reading..

Jennifer Lopez in The Blonds | 2013 Billboard Music Awards

WHO: Jennifer Lopez
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, 2013.
WEARING: The Blonds

MY VERDICT: Jennifer brought the MGM Grand house down when she hit the stage to perform her new single “Live It Up” at the Billboard Music Awards. Never one to be boring, JLO arrived to the award ceremony in head-to-toe gold, but performed in all red everything. Taking a look from her music video, Jennifer wore a custom sequin embellished bodysuit with voluminous ostrich feather embroidered sleeves from The Blonds. It may look like she raided Elmo’s closet, but let’s be real–those sleeves certainly brought some power to her dance move extensions.

Selena Gomez in Zuhair Murad | 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Selena Gomez in Zuhair Murad | 2013 Billboard Music AwardsPhotos: UltimateSelena; Zuhair Murad
WHO: Selena Gomez
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, 2013.
WEARING: Zuhair Murad

MY VERDICT: After turning heads on the Billboard Music Awards blue carpet in a Atelier Versace neon trimmed white dress and donning a gold costume for her performance of “Come and Get It”, Selena returned to the stage to present wearing a black gown by Zuhair Murad. The 20-year-old selected the long sleeve silk dress with a midway slit at the skirt center from Murad’s Spring 2013 collection, which features sheer panels at the arms and center of the waist with a black and gold plated belt.

Feel like you’ve seen this dress before? You have. Sel’s dress is a dead-ringer for the Prabal Gurung Autumn/Winter 2012-2013 gown that Zoe Saldana wore to the CFDA Fashion Awards last year in New York City.

Although I like this more than what Selena wore for her arrival—I also prefer Gurung’s original design concept.

Selena wore her long ombré hair out in sleek strands before finishing with gold tiered ball earrings.

Kelly Rowland in Rami Al Ali Couture | 2013 Billboard Music Awards

WHO: Kelly Rowland
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, 2013.
WEARING: Rami Al Ali Couture

MY VERDICT: I’d hate to state the obvious, but it looks like Kelly Rowland wore a gown made out of a disco ball at the Billboard Music Awards—and I kinda like it. The “Dirty Laundry” singer arrived at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in a V-neck Rami Al Ali Couture silver geometric pailette embellished gown, from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection.

The raised effect of the embroidery definitely fits that groovy comparison, wouldn’t you say so?

It’s obvious that Kelly was going for a full form-fitting look–I get that, but I also can’t deny that I prefer the draped open sleeves on the model. I don’t like how it fits much tighter on her in the area beneath the arm as it’s one of the details that makes the dress so beautiful in the first place. Kelly wore her long hair up leaving a few stray pieces, before completing her look with a pink matte lip, frosted diamond jewels, and a matching pair of metallic strappy sandals.

Carly Rae Jepsen in DYANTHE | 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Carly Rae Jepsen in DYANTHE | 2013 Billboard Music AwardsPhotos: Zimbio; DYANTHE; Gio Diev
WHO: Carly Rae Jepsen
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, 2013.
WEARING: DYANTHE dress, Gio Diev shoes, Nancy Gonzalez clutch & Isharya jewelry.

MY VERDICT: For her first award show as a new redhead, Carly Rae rocked the Billboard Music Awards red blue carpet in a crazy tank dress made up of wild sheer and mesh panels. The “Tonight I’m Getting Over You” singer opted for the black dress by DYANTHE, from the Fall 2012 collection, which features a loose sheer chiffon sash hanging from the back of both sides.

I want to like it because I dig the concept and I generally like the dress, but I probably would have been more into it for Carly if it was customized to be floor length. Frankly, I actually would have even preferred the simple placement of a mesh panel over her belly button, because it’s distracting otherwise. | continue reading..

Jennifer Morrison in Kristian Aadnevik | 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Jennifer Morrison in Kristian Aadnevik | 2013 Billboard Music AwardsPhotos: Zimbio; Kristian Aadnevik
WHO: Jennifer Morrison
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, 2013.
WEARING: Kristian Aadnevik dress, Edie Parker clutch, and jewelry from Amrapali & Le Vian.

MY VERDICT: It was almost as if “Once Upon a Time” star Jennifer Morrison was still riding off of her punked out mood from the MET Gala earlier this month when she turned up at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. The 34-year-old actress stepped out on the blue carpet wearing a very daring dress contraption by Kristian Aadnevik.

Jen wore a racy black bustier corset bodysuit from Aadnevik’s Fall 2013 collection with an attached sheer chiffon floor-length skirt. Due to the barely there fabric, I have no doubt that Jennifer was comfortable in the Las Vegas heat. I know I should probably say that her dress needed to be lined, but I think that would have taken away from the look severely. I only wish that the fabric of the skirt had been a little darker so that it didn’t come off as sheer, because otherwise it’s just one of those things that looks better on the runway. | continue reading..

Chloe Moretz in Fendi | 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Chloe Moretz in Fendi | 2013 Billboard Music AwardsPhotos: Zimbio; Style.com
WHO: Chloe Moretz
WHERE & WHEN: 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, 2013.
WEARING: Fendi

MY VERDICT: I tend to look forward to seeing what Chloe wears because she always seems to have so much fun with her look. As a presenter for the Billboard Music Awards the focus wasn’t on the “Carrie” star, and therefore she got to choose her dress without too much pressure. The end result? A playful Fendi patchwork dress from the Spring 2013 collection.

First things first, I love that she shortened the dress to accommodate her petite figure—I also loved the addition of a wide black leather belt as it added some edge. I prefer the bottom design of the skirt to the top because of the cool shutter stripe pattern and muted colors, but overall I like it so much more on Chloe than I did on the runway.

As for her hair and makeup? Both were good–I wish she had done more with her hair.

Chloe completed her look with adorable black and white beaded Fendi sandals and a awesome dark green nail color.
