MY VERDICT: I had to do a double take when Adele hit the red carpet, because I could have sworn she was wearing the beaded gown I wish-listed with the modifications I had hoped for.  As it turns out, the “Skyfall” singer was wearing a custom made black gown by Jenny Packham with a bead-embroidered sheer overlay.  It may not be the Valentino gown I envisioned, but it exuded all of the qualities that I felt would’ve been a great choice for her; a flattering black with a slight scoop-neck, three-quarter length sleeves, and dazzling embellishments.

It’s almost time for, arguably, the biggest award show of the year!   The 85th annual Academy Awards will be taking place in Hollywood in less than two days time, and while we wait with baited breath for who will take home the honors this year–let’s play with fashion!   We won’t know who’s wearing what until Sunday, but it’s always fun to dream up possibilities–isn’t it? Normally I don’t “predict” as much as I “wish”, but this time around, I believe it went hand-in-hand.

WHO: Adele
WHERE & WHEN: 55th Annual Grammy Awards on February 10, 2013.
WEARING: Head-to-toe Valentino Spring 2013 Haute Couture & Lorraine Schwartz  jewelry.

MY VERDICT: I’m not sure if I was more shocked to see Adele in bright color or in “Little House on the Prarie” lace, but either way there’s very little she could do to disappoint me. The usual fan of black dresses found herself in head-to-toe red floral from the Valentino Spring 2013 Haute Couture collection. The dress was obviously custom made for her considering the runway doppelganger featured white and beige elements.  While I think the “Set Fire to the Rain” singer looks fantastic in red, I’m just not into the dress in general. The sleeves were so tight, and combined with the high neck, Adele just looked uncomfortable.  That being said, I liked the silhouette of the skirt on her, and I give her props for pairing it with matching shoes; it was risky, but it worked–all things considered.

Adele completed her Grammy look with her signature retro beehive, voluminous lashes and jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz.

WHERE & WHEN: 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 13, 2013.
WEARING: Burberry dress, Miu Miu shoes, Cartier & Van Cleef and Arpels jewelry.

MY VERDICT: It was so nice to see Adele back out on the red carpet for the Golden Globes last night, but it was even better to see her snag a trophy of her own for the beautiful theme to “Skyfall” that she recorded.  The new mama looked beautiful in her custom-made black Burberry gown, which featured flattering cropped long sleeves and an embroidered neck.  With her signature heightened hair, cat-lined eyes and red talon nails in place,  Adele completed her look with diamond jewelry and a pair of Miu Miu heels.  I love her retro style;  you really have to own it or else it looks forced and tacky.  She emitted nothing but beauty and class.

Adele was looking ultra-gorgeous in another black gown, similar to the style she wore earlier this month at the GRAMMYs, when she arrived tonight for the 2012 BRIT Awards held at the O2 Arena in London.

The 23-year-old “Set Fire To The Rain” singer wore a strapless silk-chiffon gown, designed by Christopher Bailey for Burberry, that was attached to a demure sheer long-sleeve bodice with a wide bead-embellished scooped neckline. | continue reading..

Just like practically everyone else, I grew up on The Beatles music and hold the utmost respect for every member as musicians and artists. With that said, it was such treat it was to see Sir Paul McCartney on the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards last night!

The 69-year-old musician had a great performance on-stage and an even better fashion moment off as he rocked a custom-designed look by his daughter Stella McCartney. | continue reading..

Gwyneth Paltrow skipped the GRAMMY Awards red carpet tonight, but if she hadn’t, she would have rocked it because she looked pretty fierce tonight in her Stella McCartney gown.

The “The Avengers” actress and wife of Coldplay front-man Chris Martin strutted on stage, in her Fall 2012 Evening Wear sleeveless black gown with mesh sides, to announce Adele’s performance. | continue reading..
