MY VERDICT: When major red carpet events pop up during awards season, we typically see the nominated fellas in classic black tuxedos.  I have to say that I’m loving Ben’s alternative with Gucci midnight blue.  As if the color wasn’t already sharp, I’m a big fan of the satin trim and matching bow tie. Well done, Mr. Affleck.

MY VERDICT: Oh, Eddie who is dressing you?  They like you so much. The “Les Misérables” star struck menswear gold once more when he stepped out for the ceremony in a luxe raisin three-piece tuxedo from Topman. The color is so dreamy, but I was further impressed by the matching diamond patterned tie to pop off his white shirt as opposed to classic black.

Glenn Close was working the carpet last night at the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala when she arrived at the Palm Springs Convention Center in this navy blue gown by designer Bibhu Mohapatra.

She was in attendance to accept the prestigious Career Achievement Award during the ceremony.

This was a good look for her; the pleated silk chiffon and sweetheart neckline was pretty and complimenting to the frame. I liked the addition of the sheer attached shrug, especially the fact that it was only a three-quarter length sleeve. | continue reading..

How gorgeous is the beaded embellishing at the top of  Michelle Williams’ Miu Miu dress that she wore last night in Palm Springs for the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala?

The 31-year-old actress arrived at the gala to celebrate her film “My Week with Marilyn” wearing this stunning champagne silk duchesse dress enriched with a crystal and pearl embroidered bodice.

I wish the skirt had less wrinkling, but overall, I loved this dress — especially the raw-cut cap-sleeves. The copper shades of beads intertwined with the pearls also picked up the pretty reddish tones of Michelle’s new hair color. | continue reading..

Charlize Theron looked fierce on the red carpet last night at the awards ceremony during the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival where she accepted the Ensemble Award for “Young Adult” with her co-stars.

Charlize arrived at the Palm Springs Convention Center wearing a black dress from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by Lanvin. Her sleek bun hairstyle was brilliant for showing off the cool exaggerated shoulders, but it was her flawless figure that lengthened the dress and showed off the interesting cutout detail at her thigh. | continue reading..

Who cares if the holiday season is coming to a close? Certainly not Jessica Chastain, because she’s still rocking one of the most festive shades of green!

The red-headed actress arrived at the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Saturday night in a tea-length dress by Prabal Gurung with a v-neckline. I loved the black insets that complimented this absolutely gorgeous shade of metallic dark green.

It was a night of improvement for Angelina Jolie when she joined Brad Pitt (in a black Versace suit!) on the red carpet for the 23rd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala.

It’s rare that I actually dislike what Angelina wears, and I usually prefer when she wears color, but it’s only a few weeks into 2012 and I already think this is one of the best things she’ll probably wear all year.
