WHERE & WHEN: WSJ. Magazine’s “Innovator Of The Year” Awards 2013 on November 6, 2013.
WEARING: Atelier Versace dress and shoes.
MY VERDICT: Amanda stepped out for the New York screening of her new movie “Lovelace” tonight wearing head-to-toe Givenchy. Surprise, surprise—after all, the 27-year-old actress is the new face of the “Very Irresistible” fragrance. She selected a strapless navy cocktail dress from the Resort 2014 collection, which featured a micro striped bustier and a ruffled skirt with a asymmetric zip across the front. I guess she really loves her flounce. | continue reading..
MY VERDICT: Cate selected a blushing pink ensemble when she attended the New York City premiere of her new movie—the Woody Allen-directed “Blue Jasmine”, wearing head-to-toe Balenciaga.
The beautiful Australian actress selected a BALENCIAGA.Edition vintage 1967 gazar short sleeve high-low cape that was worn over a sleeveless dress with hand-embroidered flowers and paired with platform pumps.
Some things work better in editorial or on the runway, and I feel that this outfit as a whole is one of those designs. That being said, the actual embellished knee-length sheath dress worn beneath the cape was lovely all on its own—and in this heat, Cate would have probably been better off wearing just that. I guess it’s all about that arrival.
She completed her look with an elegant up-do and diamond earrings.
MY VERDICT: For those who can’t get enough of Solange’s whimsical style—this is what she wore to the New York premiere of Woody Allen’s latest movie “Blue Jasmine”. The 27-year-old singer/DJ stepped out in head-to-toe Prada; a pale celery long sleeve top and split mini skirt with flower embroidery from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection | continue reading..
MY VERDICT: For the New York screening of “RED 2″, it was another black dress for Catherine. The 43-year-old actress chose a Michael Kors Fall 2013 black cutout dress with a silver embroidered panel down the front.
MY VERDICT: Octavia was the epitome of understated elegance when she arrived for the New York screening of her critically-acclaimed movie “Fruitvale Station” last night. The 43-year-old actress looked beautiful, and ready for the current heat wave, in a custom-made black and ivory embroidered lace dress by Tadashi Shoji. The a-line hem was flattering of Octavia’s curves, and I liked the dropped effect of the cap sleeves.
She showed off the intricate neckline of the dress and a pair of long gold delicate earrings by wearing her long dark hair up. Octavia then put the finishing touches on her look with classic black accessories; a satin clutch and pointed toe leather pumps, before topping it all off with a rich raspberry pout.
I wanted to put my initial focus on Emily’s dress, but the 32-year-old Canadian actress kept diverting my attention to her totally confusing hair. If there were ever a time to say that the ombré hair color trend was a terrible idea — this would be it. I’m hoping the dip-dye coloring is for a role, but even if it is, why not wear it up to conceal it a bit?
Hair issues aside, Emily looked effortless in a classic three-quarter sleeve black cocktail dress from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection by Stella McCartney. | continue reading..
