WHERE & WHEN: 86th Annual Academy Awards on March 2, 2014.
WEARING: Vera Wang top and skirt, Jimmy Choo shoes, a Anya Hindmarch clutch, and jewelry from Anita Ko, Chanel, Repossi, Jessica McCormack, Bouchon & Solange Azagury-Partridge.
MY VERDICT: Kaley selected another full skirted gown when she arrived at the Shrine Auditorium with her new husband, tennis player Ryan Sweeting. The “Big Bang Theory” actress opted for a soft spring hue and wore this lilac-grey dress by Vera Wang; the same designer who was responsible for Kaley’s pink bridal gown!
The sweetheart bustier design featured crossover sash detail at the bodice and a smooth skirt that transformed into a high mermaid silhouette. I like the top part and the color, but there was something about the bottom that felt off balance. That being said, Kaley’s blonde ombré tresses looked lovely in cascading curls, and I liked her pewter accents–which included a Ferragamo clutch and a mirrored pair of Jimmy Choo “Raven” platform sandals.
MY VERDICT: Kaley rocked the red carpet tonight when she arrived at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live to attend the annual Primetime Emmy Awards in a gorgeous bordeaux red gown by Vera Wang. The 27-year-old star of, the nominated hit series, “The Big Bang Theory” had a black and nude strapless gown, which features an exposed corset panel bodice and a layered ruffle tulle and organza full skirt, from Wang’s Spring 2013 Bridal Collection customized in the regal color.
While I absolutely loved the original dramatic creation, I think the deep red hue was perfect for Kaley. I also loved how she accessorized with matching dyed ALDO peep toe pumps and an assortment of black, gold, and garnet gemstone bangles from Neil Lane. Smoky eyes, a Jimmy Choo minaudière, and cascading wavy tresses completed her look.
MY VERDICT: After her big win at the MTV Video Music Awards in Brooklyn, New York last night, Selena quickly headed back to the left coast to celebrate the premiere of her new movie “Getaway” in Westwood, California this evening.
The brunette beauty hit the black carpet at the Regency Village Theatre in a striking Vera Wang Fall 2013 black layered cocktail dress with silver and purple floral embroidery, and a black lace panel at the plunging neckline. | continue reading..
MY VERDICT: It was so hard for ladies to find a balance between “chaos” and “couture” at the MET gala this year, but I believe Kerry Washington was one of the few who made a great attempt. The “Scandal” actress looked absolutely stunning when she arrived on the red carpet wearing a custom-made violet floral and laser lace peplum gown by Vera Wang, which featured a black fishnet inset within the deep v-neckline and a matching tulle train. The dress alone had a dark glamour vibe that was only enhanced by Kerry’s daring long leather gloves.
This was certainly something new for Kerry, but I’ve never gotten the impression that she wasn’t willing to test new fashion waters. | continue reading..
