MY VERDICT: It was so hard for ladies to find a balance between “chaos” and “couture” at the MET gala this year, but I believe Kerry Washington was one of the few who made a great attempt. The “Scandal” actress looked absolutely stunning when she arrived on the red carpet wearing a custom-made violet floral and laser lace peplum gown by Vera Wang, which featured a black fishnet inset within the deep v-neckline and a matching tulle train. The dress alone had a dark glamour vibe that was only enhanced by Kerry’s daring long leather gloves.

This was certainly something new for Kerry, but I’ve never gotten the impression that she wasn’t willing to test new fashion waters. | continue reading..

MY VERDICT: Nicole glittered in gold wearing a floor-length semi-sheer metallic lace Vera Wang dress. The sleek v-neck design comes from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2013 runway collection. The cut was a near-perfect fit for Nicole, but it just doesn’t feel like a Grammys dress to me. It’s going to be hard to top what she wore to the ceremony in 2011. Nicole completed her look with super sleek tresses, Fred Leighton jewelry, a dark manicure and matching L’Wren Scott Spring 2013 sandals.

WHO: Teresa Palmer
WHERE & WHEN: “Warm Bodies” New York City screening on January 25, 2013.
WEARING: Vera Wang top and skirt, Christian Louboutin shoes & Kwiat jewelry.

MY VERDICT: I just love seeing more and more of Teresa on the red carpet as she’s one of my favorite rising stars right now.  The Australian beauty looked youthful and fabulous at the New York screening of her new movie “Warm Bodies” (go see it!) wearing an embroidered crop top and white folded skirt by Vera Wang.  I’m really into white-on-white looks with a little bit of metallic detail tossed in lately, so I’m all about the pairing of her “Dudoura” Christian Louboutin sandals. These heels were a cool balance with the feminine edge of her top and bottom, and I dig the hint of silver around the toes with the perspex ankle cuff.

MY VERDICT: The beautiful Sandra was presented with the “Humanitarian Award” during the Peoples’ Choice Awards ceremony last night, and gave a beautiful speech that you should definitely YouTube if you missed it.  The “Blind Side” actress accepted her award while wearing an outfit by Vera Wang; a Spring 2013 blue and black floral lace single shoulder top that was paired with a high waist pinstripe skirt. To be honest, I don’t really care for skirt. It’s appropriate for her, don’t get me wrong—I just don’t like the striped effect. The top was really pretty though, and I think it’s kind of fun that she added pops of hot pink at the top and bottom of her look with a lipstick to match her suede Jimmy Choo “Anouk” pumps. | continue reading..

Allyson Felix stepped out on the red carpet looking ultra-glamorous in a beautiful strapless black mermaid gown by Vera Wang, from the designer’s Spring 2012 Bridal Collection, when she attended the 22nd annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

She flaunted her toned figure in this corseted gown with a pleated layered whimsical skirt. You may be familiar with the design as Sofia Vergara wore it in teal at the Golden Globe Awards this year, but I think I prefer the drama of this darker design. | continue reading..

How can GWEN STEFANI possibly tell me to “Settle Down” when No Doubt has a new album coming out next month and she’s looking all kinds of fierce in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar? That’s a tall order I think — and not one I can fulfill.

For the first time ever, SELENA GOMEZ covers the July issue of ELLE Magazine — lens by Carter Smith.

The 19-year-old actress-turned-popstar has been the subject of many tabloid chatter, mostly centering around her highly publicized relationship with Justin Bieber, but also due to her burgeoning pop music career, a debut signature fragrance and two upcoming movies — the animated “Hotel Transylvania” and next year’s “Spring Breakers”, where Selena more than sheds her Disney girl image.

Not only did she make her ELLE debut, but she did it twice over with a special double issue. For the bright yellow glossy cover, with her name written boldy across her body, Joe Zee styled Selena in a printed tunic from the Fall 2012 collection by Balmain as her long beachy waves, courtesy of hairstylist Harry Josh, cascaded over her shoulders.
