Review: China Glaze ‘Sea Goddess’ Spring 2014 Collection

Product Review

Review: China Glaze Sea Goddess Spring 2014 CollectionThe first day of spring is literally a week away, so I’m quite excited that I was able to check out three polishes from the China Glaze Spring 2014 “Sea Goddess” Collection. They were kind enough to share them with me so that I can share with all of you today!

I’ll be honest, while the rich pastel hued colors originally grabbed my attention, the fact that they were textured polishes made me a bit apprehensive as it’s been a definite ‘hit’ or ‘miss’ with other China Glaze textured polishes. However, these were much finer–kind of a mix between Zoya’s Pixie Dust and OPI Liquid Sand polishes, if you’re familiar with those. All three of them were very easy to apply and I pretty much got full coverage in just two coats.

Review: China Glaze Sea Goddess Spring 2014 CollectionSHELL WE DANCE
Shell We Dance — This is a bright rosy pink packed with silver and dark pink glitter, which is pretty noticeable and makes it so gorgeous. As I’ve said in the past, I’m not a big fan of pink–however, I really liked this color once I put it on.

Tail Me Something — This looked so gorgeous in the bottle that I couldn’t wait to put it on–I even thought it would be my favorite, however, I was surprised to find that it wasn’t what I thought it would be at all. Don’t let the picture fool you, because the actual shade takes on more of a metallic silver tone with purple hues rather than just being an all-over light lavender. That being said, this was still pretty.

Sea Horsin’ Around — Just beautiful! I adore the turquoise with the gold shimmer, although the shimmer is way more subtle on the nail than in the bottle. This is one of those polishes that you have to try to see exactly what I’m talking about as pictures simply don’t do it enough justice. This may not be the color of an actual sea horse, but it definitely reminds me of the sea. You’ll want to sport this a lot this summer, for sure.

VERDICT: Overall, I was pretty happy with China Glaze on these textures–especially compared to their others, and the colors seem so fun for both Spring and Summer. I’ll probably go out and pick up the rest of the collection for myself.
