Review: OPI ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ Collection

I’m excited to share the latest Limited Edition polishes from OPI with you, which are inspired by Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted!

I guess you could say I’m a bit of a aficionado when it comes to The Muppets; I grew up on the movies, the cartoons, the toys, and I may have even idolized Miss Piggy a little bit at one point or another :cough:istilldo:cough:.

What can I say? She’s the most fabulous.

I made it my mission to stock up on the entire Muppet holiday collection that OPI first did back in 2011, so it should go without saying that I’m thrilled they teamed back up to celebrate the latest Disney film starring Kemit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Animal, Fozzie Bear, and the rest of the fuzzy gang.

The collection is mostly focused on pink and nude tones–but there is a gorgeous deep purple, a fun duochrome, and a couple of pretty glitters in the mix. I’ll stop babbling so you can check them out. Enjoy!

I Love Applause — This would be a great “go to” color if you’re looking for something in the nude direction. It’s a very pretty subtle pink that was opaque in four coats.

Let’s Do Anything — This is a rose gold/pink and white confetti glitter in a clear base. I got great coverage with only one coat and I love that the white glitter doesn’t seem over powering because of the mixture of tiny and large squares.

Chillin’ Like A Villain’ — Besides the awesome name, I love the opaque that I achieved in 4 coats; it looks like a very light peach and professional enough for those that may not be able to wear color for work. Another great “go to” that you can wear as a sheer nude as well.

Gaining Mole-Mentum — This one is packed with glitter! There are lots of gold, silver and pink shards of shredded gorgeous-ness in a clear base. Go very light on the coats as I got almost full coverage with just one coat. You will also have to do a tiny bit of dabbing with the brush to spread the glitter a bit.

Miss Piggy’s Big Number — I absolutely LOVE this stunning sapphire blue! This definitely stands out amongst the other shades…just like Miss Piggy herself. It seemed a bit sheer at first, but was very easy to work with as it became opaque in two coats. I did notice a few brush strokes as well, but nothing a bit of top coat couldn’t fix.

Muppets World Tour — So much sparkle! In fact, I got so much coverage with one coat that you could probably wear it on its own, which I bet would look amazing.

Kermit Me To Speak — It’s a nice sheer duochrome that shifts between green and purple. In the bottle it seemed more green, but once I put it on I saw purple in most lighting.

Int’l Crime Caper — Such a beautiful sheer pearl color. It takes a few coats to build up so I layered it over Miss Piggy’s Big Number, which I kind of really like. I also tried a sandwich with Muppets World Tour, and I was pleased with the result.

VERDICT: Overall, I think this is a well-rounded collection with some great nudes and sparkle. My favorites would most definitely be Miss Piggy’s Big Number, Muppets World Tour and Int’l Crime Caper.
