MY VERDICT: Another night, another red carpet. Shailene and Theo continued on the busy “Divergent” promo tour with a special screening held in Chicago on Tuesday night—the same city in which they filmed the highly-anticipated movie. The 22-year-old actress stepped out on the red carpet at ShowPlace ICON Theater wearing a pretty sleeveless Diane von Furstenberg black and gold scale-printed shift dress, which only recently debuted on the catwalk during the Fall/Winter 2014 show at New York Fashion Week.
I’m not sure if it’s because I was a bigger fan of the sheer star-print blouson sleeves partnered with it on the runway, but I felt that the dress was missing something on Shailene. She kept the look unfussed with black suede Kurt Geiger “Ellen” pointe suede pumps. These are great for daytime press looks, but I wish she had opted for something a little more elaborate–a strappy heel would have been ideal.
Theo worked his growing signature look of a sharp suit and a carefree unbutton neckline. The English actor, once again, selected a suit from ETRO–this time in charcoal with a crisp white shirt. Lace up leather shoes and a bright smile completed his look.
