Winter will officially arrive in a few weeks, and when temperatures are dropping rapidly outside we often try to ‘beat the cold,’ but Essie wants you to embrace it this year with their fabulously frosted new nail polish line. As Outkast once famously sang, “what’s cooler than being cool? Ice cold.”
Essie’s Limited Edition Winter 2020 Collection, cleverly called Love at Frost Sight, is a range of six shades inspired by ‘a dreamy, frosted fantasy that’s filled with holiday treats and all things sweet’.
At first, the collection gave me spring vibes although I was pleasantly surprised by their shimmery Sugarplum Fairy vibes, which definitely made me feel festive when I swatched them for this review.

Love at Frost Sight — A nice and light baby blue, perfectly gives off a frosty winter look!
Twinkle In Time
Twinkle In Time — Delicate pearl winter white that shines like ice. Absolutely beautiful!
Sugarplum Fairytales
Sugarplum Fairytales — Cool-toned lavender that is super packed with the pearly gold shimmer. The gold is so strong it almost over powers the shade, but to be honest I’m okay with that because it’s so pretty!
In A Gingersnap
In A Gingersnap — A rich and rosy red with the perfect amount of gold shine. This is the boldest shade of the collection and my favorite. SO gorgeous and great for the holidays!!
Peppermint Conditions
Peppermint Conditions — A minty green beauty! The gold works so well and gives a light shimmer.
Bonbon Nuit
Bonbon Nuit — This is a sweet light pink that shines with it’s gold shimmer. It’s almost a toned down and lighter version of Sugarplum Fairytale.
VERDICT: This is a fantastic collection of frost and shine! Each shade is packed with the same gorgeous pearlized gold shimmer. All had fantastic application and went on smoothly, I can never rave enough about how much I love Essie’s wide brush. My favorites: In A Gingersnap, Twinkle In Time and Peppermint Condition.
