MY VERDICT: With perhaps the most stand-out fashion moment of this year’s virtual ceremony, Elle really knocked it out of the park in her custom Vivienne Westwood dress. The star of Hulu’s The Great revealed on her Instagram that Vivienne and Andreas reached out to her about designing a dress that was inspired by Catherine the Great’s love of pearls.
The result was a pink-lilac shimmery satin corset dress with draping detail and pearl embellished straps that hung off of Elle’s shoulders. I mean, what can I say that isn’t obvious? This looks great on her.
Elle’s stylist, Samantha McMillen, highlighted the details of the dress by adding more pearls with a layered necklace and finishing off with champagne gold pumps.
Loose tresses, lined eyes and peachy-pink blush completed her look.
