WHO: Kristen Stewart
WHERE & WHEN: CHANEL “Métiers d’Art” Fashion Show 2013 / “The Return by Karl Lagerfeld” Premiere on December 10, 2013.
WEARING: Chanel top, sweater, pants, Christian Louboutin shoes, and jewelry from Jillian Dempsey & Chanel Fine Jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Kristen, who was just named a new face of Chanel, joined her pal Dakota Fanning at the Métiers d’Art fashion show and drive-in premiere of designer Karl Lagerfeld’s film “The Return” at Dallas Fair Park in Texas. The 23-year-old “Sils Maria” actress bared some skin in a tonal Spring 2014 ensemble consisting of cool high-waist drawstring ginger leather baggy trousers, a mint cashmere long sleeve crop sweater (with one sleeve scrunched to show off her latest tattoo), and a slate grey sweater tied around her waist.

I like that she turned the sweater around and ditched the orange knit tied at the neck, although I don’t think the tight straight cut of the top and the pants highlighted her waistline well. I dig that Kristen has the guts to go for this look considering this pant style is usually avoided by women–and, I feel like the overall chill vibe treads closely to what she finds most comfortable but, truthfully, I doubt she gives zero F’s what anyone has to say about it anyway.

Kristen slipped on nude Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pointed pumps to balance out the width of the pant leg before finishing with dark smoky eyes, her signature side pinned wavy locks, a Jillian Dempsey rose gold diamond spike chain bracelet and baby crown ring, and an assortment of Chanel Fine Jewelry rings–including two Baroque ring sin 18K white gold and 18K yellow gold, onyx and diamonds on her right hand.

Are you a fan girl? I thought this was a fashion site. Ew.

  2. Louise

I cannot tell you how much I love that Kristen Stewart is a face of Chanel. It warms my heart to see a girl whose usual uniform is jeans, chucks and low maintenance be so coveted by designers. I’ll also admit to enjoying the outrage from some of the fashion set — it was hysterical to read.

Good on Mr Lagerfield for keeping things interesting.

Court that is not a real tattoo on Ks arm it was for her role in sils maria

    • Fashion Court

Oh, really? It looks darker than it was when she was filming, and she’s had it for nearly 4 months now. Wouldn’t it have faded by now?

      • guest

Court = it’s a tattoo. She wore a fake one for the movie but once she came one, apparently she got it for real. So, you were right!

  4. Lee

so, she is the face of Chanel and Florabotanica, no conflict? just curious…

    • Fashion Court

As far as I know, Kristen is still fronting the “Florabotanica” and “Rosabotanica” fragrances for Balenciaga as well as the 2013/14 Métiers d’Art Paris-Dallas collection for Chanel.

  5. Sarah

I thought Diane Kruger was the Face of Chanel. Isn’t Kristen just fronting this one Dallas Collection? If she were the new face of Chanel, wouldn’t Chanel have made a deal out of it?

    • Fashion Court

I said she was “‘a’ new face of Chanel” meaning she’s entered a partnership–not to imply that she was fronting the fashion house in its entirety. 🙂

I wish they would have fitted the outfit to Kristen’s proportions, like they did with the model, it would have looked better. But I wish even more, designers would stop trying to revisit a bad trend, the highwaist/ pleated pants, they were awful back in the 80’s and they still are.
