Get The Look: Lupita Nyong’o’s Makeup – “Sorry Angel” Cannes 2018 Premiere

Get The Look: Lupita Nyong'o's Makeup - 'Sorry Angel' Cannes 2018 PremiereAt first glance, Lupita Nyong’o hitting the 2018 Cannes Film Festival red carpet wearing a bird cage and leaf gown may have been what caught your eye — but, that was just one element of her fabulous look.

The Lancôme ambassador sported a flawless face, and The Fashion Court has the scoop on the products Lupita’s makeup artist Nick Barose used to achieve her winged eye and raspberry-wine pout!

“For the white gown I wanted to play against the pureness of the white with vampy make up–with burgundy tone eyes and lips–with glowing skin. Red burgundy tones on dark skin really pop and create a dramatic look that’s wearable,” he explained.

COMPLEXION: Nick prepped Lupita’s skin with the Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum before applying a base for the makeup with the La Base Pro Make-Up Base Powder–he kept the T-zone matte for a polished look. He then added the Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Foundation in 550–using a dampen BeautyBlender, and applied Teint Idole Ultra Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer in 6 under her eyes.

To set the makeup, Nick dusted on Translucence Pressed Powder in 550.

CHEEKS: Lupita’s cheeks were given a rosy flush with the Blush Subtil Cheek Make Up in Rose Indien and highlighted using the Teint Idole Ultra Custom Highlighting Drops in Bronze Glow.

EYES: Lupita’s eyes were first prepped with the Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolour Base in 06-Sienne; he smudged the Ombre Hypnôse Stylo Shadow Stick in Rubis on her upper lids–and slightly winged out–and lined her upper lashed with a winged edge using the Monsieur Big Eyeliner Marker and the Drama Liqui-Pencil in Noir Intense (on the inner rims).

Nick topped the eyes off with one coat of the Monsieur Big Mascara , and he brushed the Sourcils Gel to define her eyebrows before shaping for fullness with the  Les Sourcils Definis Brow Expert in Noir.

LIPS: Nick prepped her lips with L’Absolu Gloss in Entracte and traced along the lines of her lips using the Le Lipstique Lip Liner in the nude Idéal, before adding some color with the Color Design Lip Sensational Effects Lipstick in Bow and Arrow.
