Review: Deborah Lippmann 'Fantastical' Collection

Review: Deborah Lippmann ‘Fantastical’ Holiday 2014 Collection

Product Review

When you think of a holiday nail lacquer collection you probably visualize red, green, silver, gold and white, and all the ways you can turn that into glitter, metallics, and shimmers. Now, I'm the first gal to get excited over that color palette but Deborah Lippmann has, as they say, 'been there, done that' ...and that's why I'm super excited that she let her imagination run wild with her not-so-traditionally-festive new Holiday/Winter 2014 Fantastical Collection. The exotic line features a whimsical array of colors in vibrant lime green, shimmering burnt orange, electric pink, celestial blue, a moon-changing teal, and a sparkling black to take you on a magical ride. I was practically vibrating with excitement when I saw a preview of these colors so, needless to say, I was thrilled to be able to test run a few shades that I'm about to share with you. So.... let's get to it!

Review: Deborah Lippmann ‘New York Marquee’ Fall 2014 Collection

Product Review

Take an alternative approach to your autumn wardrobe by spicing up your manicure with jewel-tone chrome thanks to the brand new Deborah Lippmann New York Marquee Fall 2014 Collection. Deborah tips her hat to 'the city that never sleeps' this season with what she calls: an ode to Art Deco, from Bowery to Broadway. This exciting, opulent, and beautiful line--which offers complete coverage that's chip-free, is made up of 6 luxe chrome colors in pewter, gold, blush, magenta, indigo ink and a soft teal. Because I'm such a 'Broadway baby', I had a blast testing out each shade---and admiring my fingernails with zero shame each time. I've always been a fan of the easy application of Deborah's polishes, and it doesn't hurt that she never fails at creating a unique shade of colors that are almost always universally flattering. I'm sure after reading my review, you'll find yourself grabbing this collection to celebrate a few exciting NYC nights of your own this fall.
Review: OPI x Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 Collection - Rollin' In Cashmere Trio

Review: OPI x Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 Collection – Rollin’ In Cashmere Trio

Product Review

Welcome to the third and final installment of my review of the OPI x Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 Collection. This time around I focused on the Rollin' In Cashmere trio pack, which includes a soft opulent gold, a fun iridescent hex glitter reminiscent of a snow globe, and a whimsical multi-glitter made up of darker tones. Rollin' In Cashmere is one of two trios features with the holiday collab. You can check out my review of the Unfrost My Heart Trio as well as my test-run of the 12 Cremes and Shimmers also featured in the collection.

Review: OPI x Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 Collection – Cremes & Shimmers

Product Review

After completely falling in love with the collaboration between OPI and Gwen Stefani earlier this year, I was beyond excited to know that the team had a holiday collection in the works. It's no secret that anything Gwen touches turns to fabulous, so imagine the stylish possibilities when her touch is complete with an OPI lacquered manicure. "During the holiday season, women adopt a more glamorous beauty look," explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder & Brand Ambassador. With the launch of the bold and luxurious collection comes 18 limited edition nail lacquers inspired the edgy-yet-sophisticated style of the No Doubt singer/songwriter, L.A.M.B. designer and "The Voice" coach. Amongst the line you'll find a wide assortments of rich jewel-tone cremes and shimmers as well as glittery confections and chrome accents that were offered in cute holiday trio packs (which I separated into different posts highlight, check out the Unfrost My Heart Trio: Review and the Rollin' In Cashmere Trio: Review). At first glance, despite the hearts I had in my eyes, I didn't fail to notice that there was only one green in the collection and zero blue. I was a bit torn on how I felt about that, but it didn't diminish my excitement to test out of the collection, which I was able to do when OPI sent the shades my way. I hope you enjoy my review.
Review: OPI Nordic Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Review: OPI ‘Nordic’ Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Product Review

I can always count on OPI to bring a delicious assortment of rich and brilliant hued colors to help celebrate one of the most beautiful seasons. Last year we were taken on a cool trip to San Francisco but, this time around, the iconic nail polish brand wants you to 'set your sights on the Northern Lights' with the OPI Nordic Fall/Winter 2015 Collection. Inspired by the countries of Northern Europe, this 12 polish line features 2 shimmery shades, 9 cremes and 1 glittery stand-out. I really enjoyed playing with this collection because a lot of the colors were quite obviously suited for the autumnal months whereas a few of them were traditional summer favorites that were muted for a nice transition through seasons. Read on to find out my verdict on each one...
Review: Essie 'Dress To Kilt' Collection

Review: Essie ‘Dress To Kilt’ Fall 2014 Collection

Product Review

Autumn is my favorite time of year; for the slight chill in the air, for the food, for Pumpkin Spice lattes, for fashion, and--of course, for nail polish. Not only do I love the colors and the spirit of the season, but I always feel like polish looks the best on my nails during this time of year, but maybe that's due to the lack of a tan changing my natural tone or skin bitten from the harsh winter weather. This year Essie has increased my eagerness for fall with their ultra-chic new "Dress To Kilt" Collection. This gorgeous line includes 6 lush cremes in vibrant shades of seasonal favorites, includes a soft taupe, two leafy greens, a sophisticated royal cobalt, a yummy chocolate, and a siren red that's honored with the namesake of the collection. I was totally psyched when the cool team over at Essie sent me these six beauties to try out so that I could share my thoughts with all of you. I hope you take the time to enjoy my review before you rundontwalk to your nearest beauty supply store to stock up on a few bottles for yourself!
Review: China Glaze 'The Giver' Collection

Review: China Glaze ‘The Giver’ Collection

Product Review

China Glaze teamed up with "The Giver" to celebrate the summer release of the social science fiction film, based off the early 1990s novel by Lois Lowry. Set in the year 2048, the dystopian story focuses on a community stripped of their memories. To keep in theme with the story and colors of the film, the polish collection features 10 cremes and 2 glitters that balance each other out with cool and warm tones. Ranging from pale mint green and ballet pink to vibrant brick red and purple, the line is reawakened with a shimmering bronze that actually looks like glittering gravel on your nails. I was attracted to the line at first glance, so I was thrilled to received the collection from China Glaze to share my review with all of you. Read on to find out, what I think, are the most stand-out colors.
Review: OPI 'Neon' Summer 2014 Collection

Review: OPI ‘Neon’ Summer 2014 Collection

Product Review

I love brightening up my manicure after saying "see ya" to snow-packed days, and this year OPI is giving me a juicy dose of brightly hued perfection with their brand new Summer 2014 NEON Collection! For the first time, the iconic nail polish brand is releasing their beloved neon beauties in full sized bottles and, to add to that excitement, they're also being added as permanent fixtures to their line of polishes. For this year's line, OPI has treated us to 6 punchy shades of purple, green, yellow, orange, pink and coral---along with a white to wear beneath each color to enhance the hue while also protecting the nail. For my review I used two sets of three colors for displaying purposes but, they ended up looking so funky together that it actually gave me some inspiration for summer nail art. While I start working on my next neon mani, read on to find out more about OPI's latest.

Cannes Beauty: Sarah Gadon’s “Maps To The Stars” Premiere Makeup – Get The Look!

Sarah Gadon dazzled her way down the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for the "Maps to the Stars" premiere, but the Canadian actress exuded radiance due to more than just excitement and her gorgeous blue lace Giorgio Armani Privé gown---her makeup was flawless! FACE: Sarah's skin was prepped with Diorskin Nude BB Creme Nude Glow Skin Perfecting Beauty Balm in N°001 Light, which freshened the skin while moisturizing and smoothing for sheer coverage. Dior Glow Maximizer in N°001 was then applied for a luminous glow. CHEEKS: Diorskin Rosy Glow in Petal N°001 was applied to her cheeks for a natural flush.

MET Ball Beauty: Get Anne Hathaway’s “Bitten” Lips & Shimmering Red Nails!

Anne Hathaway was amongst the star-studded guest list at this year's glamorous Met Gala, which honored the "Charles James: Beyond Fashion" exhibit with a New York City white tie affair. The brunette beauty emerged onto the scarlet carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a belly-baring Calvin Klein Collection bustier dress to match. Anne may have been 'seeing red' with her outfit, but CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee opted for pink tones when it came to her bold and shiny pout. "It's an amped up version of bitten lips, paired with coppery eyes," Kate explained the inspiration behind the look. "Anne was wearing a dramatic red column dress, and I wanted to do the opposite of what people would expect. So, instead of putting a red lip with a red dress, we went for this cool pink balanced with a warm shade of eye shadow."
Review: OPI 'Spotlight on Glitter' Collection

Review: OPI ‘Spotlight on Glitter’ Collection

Product Review

In conjunction with the release of their super cool new peel-off glitter base coat 'Glitter Off', OPI is releasing six sparkly glitters with their new collection Spotlight On Glitter. For the hardcore polish and OPI fans, most of these seem to be re-released/re-named glitters of collection past---however, it's a treat for those that weren’t able to grab them before, like myself. Needless to say, I was pretty 'jazzed' about getting my sparkle on when OPI sent them my way for a test drive. I dare you not to get glitter obsessed after checking these out. Because I wanted to really put some 'spotlight' on the glitter, I applied them over base shades from the Brazil Summer 2014 Collection, which allowed for them to stand out a bit better. In the wise words of Ke$ha: '...go insane. Throw some glitter, make it rain!'.
