MY VERDICT: Wow, Cate really turned up the drama for the Kering Women in Film awards ceremony dinner tonight in Cannes wearing a custom illusion dress from Iris Van Herpen. The Australian actress slipped into an off-the-shoulder and halterneck hybrid form-fitting dress with shades of green and blue creating an abstract scale motif throughout and ending in a mermaid-esque fishtail. The dress was a combination of two looks found in the Spring/Summer 2018 Haute Couture collection with the addition of electric blue tones. This was really funky; a nice little switch-up from Cate’s suits and more traditional gowns, and I liked it. Soft makeup and and hair allowed for the dress to take center stage.
