MY VERDICT: It looks like Penélope Cruz and Chloë Sevigny aren’t the only ones dipping into the archives during Cannes this year. Kristen arrived for the annual Chanel dinner co-hosted by Vanity Fair wearing a dress from the Pre-Fall 2017 Paris-Cosmopolite collection; a fully embroidered long sleeve dress with a draped ribbon detail on the shoulder. This dress was too shapeless for me on the runway, but I liked the tucking modification on Kristen as I don’t think it would have worked as well in its original form. She added edge, of course, with a pair of PVC and grosgrain boots from the Spring 2018 collection, a Chanel Première triple wrap watch and a Chanel Fine Jewelry “Sous le signe du lion” ring.
Once again, despite a cool outfit, I’m drawn to her hair and makeup. She’s on a roll.
