Review: Beautifully Disney Fantasy In Flight Collection

In my opinion, you're never too old to be a Disney fan--and that's why it's still at the top of the list of things I love the most. In fact, my entire family could definitely be labeled "Disney Fanatics"! I was thrilled when Disney collaborated for the second time with OPI last spring for their Couture de Minnie Collection, but my excitement definitely flew off the richter when the House of Mouse launched their very own Beautifully Disney beauty line shortly after with a focus on the 'wicked' fairytale villains. For their second installment of the cosmetic line, Disney introduces "Fantasy in Flight"--which is centered around Peter Pan's famous side kick Tinker Bell and the Blue Fairy from "Pinocchio". In the collection you'll find a 6 shade eyeshadow palette, a set of four mini nail polishes, two lip glosses, and a brush set. It should go without saying that I bounced around like Tigger when I got a special delivery of the collection to review for all of you, along with some signature pieces from the Beautifully Disney line (mascara and two blushes).

Before I kick off my latest swatch review, I have to say that out of all of the new OPI collections recently released, the collaboration with Gwen Stefani is probably the one I've been looking forward to the most. I was big fan of No Doubt growing up, and have always had a love and appreciation for Gwen's music and eclectic style. She's just... so cool. The mission of this particular collab was to "create a collection as dramatic, diverse and glamorous as its namesake," according to Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder and Executive Vice President. "With crème and glitter hues, new satin matte texture, a mirrored chrome and SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, Gwen Stefani by OPI presents the latest in pigments and finishes, while combining elements of haute couture and street fashion." OPI was kind enough to send the collection my way to share a look with all of you, and I couldn't be more excited to do so!

We're quickly approaching Christmas, which means the holiday season is nearing a close and the winter blues will soon be upon us as the days are filled with bitter weather, and the holiday decorations quickly come down. I tend to try to find things to perk me up to beat the 'woe is me' vibe that hits that first day back to work after ringing in the New Year, and I think ZOYA will be a positive contributor this year. The cool team over at Zoya recently sent their "ZENITH" Holiday-Winter 2013 collection my way, and now I can officially show you how a bit of shimmer and vivid sparkle is a key to blasting those winter blues. Be prepared to fall in love with the lively shades below!

For the final installment of my review of the OPI x Mariah Carey Holiday-Winter 2013 Collection, I give you the ultra-gorgeous group of liquid sands. These textured glittering polishes are definitely on-trend with the latest nail craze, and it's just an extra perk that they're so pretty. I've said it before, but OPI's Liquid Sands are some of the better textured polishes that have come out this year. I love the formula, they dry great and looks just as beautiful with a top coat. Make sure you also check out my thoughts on the CREMES & SHIMMERS (Part I) and the GLITTERS (Part II)! FYI: For the swatches below I used two coats for each and without a basecoat.

My favorite time of year is here, and 'tis the season to be jolly---and load up on festive nail polish! Why should the decorations get all the shimmer and glitter when you have a set of nails that need some holiday cheer? Mariah Carey, who knows a thing or two about celebrating Christmas, teamed back up with OPI to create a beautiful Holiday/Winter 2013 line filled with shades and gleaming textures to make sure you take a bit of the holidays everywhere you go. The OPI crew sent me the collection to review, and after I did an elf-tastic happy dance, I got to work on swatching it--while jamming to Mariah's Christmas albums, mind you. This collection has 18 polishes (Note: Not including the Pure 18K Gold & Silver Top Coat - $30, Ulta), which proved to be too hefty to fit in one post without overwhelming you all, so I broke it into three. First up: the CREMES & SHIMMER formulas, but make sure you check out the GLITTERS and LIQUID SANDS!

I'm a holiday nut to the core---ask anyone who knows me. I pretty much count down until September 1st so that I can celebrate my four favorite months that involve Fashion Week (okay, so that's not an official holiday), Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. One of my favorite ways to celebrate the season is by playing around with nail art, so needless to say, I look forward to all the themed collections from some of my favorite nail brands. We're almost done with summer!! I'm sure that will get the response of many groans, but if you're anything like me, then you're welcoming the crisp autumn season with open arms clad in a cozy cable knit sweater, of course, because--yessss fall fashion! I'm a huge fan of the "Ber" months, as I refer to September-December. I love the holidays, the clothes, and most of all--the colors! Needless to say, I was super excited about the launch of 15-polish OPI San Francisco collection for Fall/Winter 2013 and the fact that they were kind enough to send the line my way so that I could tell you all about it. Wow, summer seems to be flying by at a rapid pace and, before you know it, autumn will be arriving. However, no worries, there's still plenty left to enjoy of the season---and there's still time to get (and rock) the new Zoya Summer Pixie Dust polish collection. The cool peeps at Zoya kindly sent me the collection---along with some of the colors from the debut Pixie collection, so I could show you just how awesome they really are. The entire collection is beautiful, bright---and, of course, super sparkly! Your finger nails will reflect like diamonds under the summer sun.

Summer may not officially start until tomorrow, but that doesn't mean you have to wait any longer to play with ultra-bright colors that are the hottest trend this season. Today I have a look at the new OPI "Neon Revolution" mini set for you, which features four limited edition neon nail lacquers, a neon white base coat, and the OPI Top Coat. I have a fairly large polish collection, but I never realized how I severly lacked in neon colors, and that's why I was so excited to give these a test spin. I tend not to purchase mini bottles of polish because I feel like it won't last me long--so why bother? However, I was pleasantly surprised to see how much each bottle packs--I can certainly get a few manis out of this to last me straight through summertime. On with it!

I'm beyond excited to share the latest collection from OPI with you, and if you follow all of my crazy Twitter ramblings then you'll probably have an idea why--it's all about Minnie Mouse! That's right, I got my Disney-loving paws on the Couture de Minnie line, and before you go and say you already have the OPI Minnie polishes--slow your roll, because these bad boys are brand new! Last summer OPI released some ultra-cute colors for their Vintage Minnie Collection, but this latest line is geared towards taking your favorite lady mouse in the high couture fashion direction. Disney has been focusing heavily on the fashionable side of Miss Minnie, and I love it! These are two of my total favorites coming together for one stylish venture.

Review: Essie’s Sleek Sticks

In an effort to share my love of all things hair, makeup, and nail related, I've begun to include reviews of some of the hottest new beauty lines. For the first round of reviews, I'd like to introduce you to the new Essie "Sleek Sticks" nail appliqué collection from their Nail Effects line. Essie kindly sent them over for me to try out and share my thoughts with you on how well they work. If you've never tried nail appliques--in a nutshell--they are basically stickers for your nails. Quite frankly, when I first heard Essie was doing some I was a bit apprehensive to test them out as my experience in the past with other brands had more misses than hits. However, I LOVE Essie polish ,so I figured I'd give them it a go...plus the designs really caught my eye. Essie Sleek Stick nail appliques, come in a variety of designs (12 to be exact, and listed at the bottom of this post); they are UV cured and said to last up to 10 days. In my history with other appliques: they usually don't last more than a day without at least a little lifting. I didn't have these on long enough to test out the wear time, but I've heard they are the best with staying on and you can get a good 4-5 days out of them. Let's get to it!
