For this year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala–hosted by Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, Moda Operandi creative director Lauren Santo Domingo, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour–guests were asked to dress in their punk best in celebration of the opening of the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibition.

Heads quickly turned with KRISTEN STEWART emerged onto the red carpet wearing a bold bordeaux jumpsuit by Stella McCartney that instantly set her apart from the other glamorously punkified attendees.

With every public appearance from the 23-year-old actress comes a makeup palette and hairstyle on-lookers immediately crave. MY VERDICT: Leave it up to Kristen Stewart to do the exact opposite of what you expect her to do. There wasn’t a scrap of tartan or a Chuck in sight when the “On The Road” actress arrived on the red carpet as a guest of designer Stella McCartney. Kristen wore a dramatic bordeaux silk long sleeve jumpsuit with panels of lace embroidery. First of all–I’m so excited she wore a jumpsuit. This may not have been one of my Wish List picks for her, but I had my completely heart set on a jumpsuit and she delivered. I like that there was an approach to punk taken here by incorporating some femininity into it. Kristen has a natural punk vibe about her that she didn’t need to be cliché, and that’s why this works for her better than it would for someone else.

The biggest fashion event of the year is finally here! The red carpet will be filled with all types of punk rock glam this Monday night for the 2013 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala where your favorite heavy-hitters in fashion, music, film and television will mingle at the stylish fête. Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci will be hosting the VOGUE soirèe that has been officially themed “PUNK: Chaos to Couture” to honor the latest exhibition at the mueseum.

After conquering the red carpet with crutches at the Oscars a few short weeks ago, KRISTEN STEWART was back in her sky-high heels for the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards sporting a few trends that you’re going to want to try!

The “Breaking Dawn: Part 2″ actress rocked the purple and orange carpet wearing a fun two-piece checkered black and violet outfit by OSMAN that she highlighted with sultry smoky eyes, purple passion nails and a funky undone braid.

WHERE & WHEN: Nickelodeon’s 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards on March 23, 2013.
WEARING: OSMAN by Osman Yousefzada top and shorts, Christian Louboutin shoes, and jewelry from Catbird & Karen London.

MY VERDICT: Kristen hit the KCA carpet like a woman on a mission when she arrived in a totally cool OSMAN by Osman Yousefzada blue-violet structured top and matching shorts with black checkered print, from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection.  The 22-year-old actress is known for showing off her long legs in mini skirts, but I like the slight switch up for trouser shorts; this reminded me a bit of the playsuit she wore a few months ago while promoting the final “Twilight” movie—a look that was definitely a top favorite of mine from that press tour.

This was a fun casual take on a dressy look, and it suited Kristen’s chill attitude and rebellious style while perfectly fitting the occasion.  She also looked really comfortable.  That being said–I’m totally obsessed with the combination of an undone fishtail braid!  It’s always cool when Miss Stewart gets a little adventurous with her hair. | continue reading..

WEARING: Reem Acra dress, Jimmy Choo & Bloch shoes, and Fred Leighton jewelry.

MY VERDICT: Kristen was one of the last Oscar arrivals, and she did so by stepping out on crutches!  The “On The Road” star was nursing an unexplained injury, but toughened it up to go sans assistance as she posed for photos in her glittering Reem Acra Spring 2009 Bridal Couture dress; a pale blush strapless bustier gown with exquisite hand beaded embroidery throughout, pleated tulle inserts, and a low-dipping open back.  It was the most ethereal look I’ve seen on her; that being said, I’m either a stickler for wanting to see the actress in rich color—or I’m just a hard one to win over with pale dresses.

It’s almost time for, arguably, the biggest award show of the year!   The 85th annual Academy Awards will be taking place in Hollywood in less than two days time, and while we wait with baited breath for who will take home the honors this year–let’s play with fashion!   We won’t know who’s wearing what until Sunday, but it’s always fun to dream up possibilities–isn’t it? Normally I don’t “predict” as much as I “wish”, but this time around, I believe it went hand-in-hand.

1. Ke$ha

Oh, don’t tell me you’re surprised by this. I like a few of Ke$ha’s songs, and I can appreciate that as a dance artist she likes to take it over the top—but, some things should never be worn together. Over the last twelve months, the “Die Young” singer has worn some absolutely ridiculous get ups. I liked her galaxy blazer she wore during a concert in December and her side braided hair looked cool, and then….everything else happened.

It’s that time again! 2012 was a big year in style, and it felt almost nearly impossible to pick the most fashionable stars—but it had to be done. There were a lot of fabulous moments, but not every star stayed consistent. For my year end countdown below, I selected 20 celebrities—male and female, that I felt stood out the most. Did any of your favorites make the cut?

20. Joseph Gordon-Levitt
There was no slow start to a year of style for Joseph, who kicked his red carpet moments off with a dapper look at the Golden Globe Awards in January. I really liked the satin trim of his tuxedo, but it was obviously the printed bow tie that stole the show. Throughout the next twelve months, JGL continued to thrive with his choices that were filled with character; from pinstripes to a totally fashion-forward chocolate velvet tartan Alexander McQueen suit for a talk show appearance. I particularly liked the way he partnered a three piece navy suit with a coordinating plaid shirt. Seriously, how could he not make this list?

Sure, most of us love Kristen Stewart‘s edgy approach to red carpet fashion–but, we also seem to have a soft spot for her casual threads. Like most ladies, Kristen prefers to stay comfortable in jeans, casual tops and sneakers–but, unlike most actresses, she takes her casual attire on the road with her for major press tours instead of limiting it to downtime runs around Hollywood.
