MY VERDICT: It was all about Chanel for Elizabeth, who hit the red BAFTA carpet in a black Fall 2011 Haute Couture dark blue organza peplum gown entirely embroidered with silver sequins, dark blue feathers, and organza camélias.  To be honest, I wasn’t all that crazy about this dress on the runway, but I think Lizzie is changing my mind a bit.  The 23-year-old “Very Good Girls” actress was owning it and bursting with confidence, which made the dress look better in my eyes.  I’m so glad that she didn’t try to over-do it with major hair, makeup and accessories.  With such an attention-grabbing dress, sometimes the rest of the details are best left with a subtle approach.

Lizzie simply finished with loose waves, a black clutch, matching pumps, and 18k “Profil de Camélia” and “L’Air” rings in white gold and diamonds from Chanel Fine Jewelry.

MY VERDICT:  I had Anniee pegged for a streamlined look tonight to flatter her pixie haircut, but I’m both surprised and excited that she dipped into archives rather than opting for something new or custom.  The “Les Misèrables” star selected an absolutely gorgeous winter white Chanel beaded strapless column dress, from the Spring/Summer 2009 Haute Couture collection. Wow, she looks incredible!  From the layered sleek silhouette, to the delicate gorgeous embroidery, and above all else—a perfect fit.  Anne sparkled with minimal, but stunning Chanel Fine Jewelry; a “Swing Diamant” diamond bracelet, “Plume” diamond bracelet, and a pair of “Camellia” small diamond earrings.

This look was perfectly completed with a sheer manicure and a soft palette of Chanel makeup.

MY VERDICT: Let’s face it, you’re never going to get something ordinary when it comes to Elle’s red carpet look. At only fourteen years old this girl takes more chances than half of Hollywood, and I love her for it.  Last night she slipped into a Chanel white strapless dress with flower appliqués, from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which fell to her ankles.  I can’t say that I like the fit because the dress looks like a blanket, but Elle pulled it off. I wouldn’t try and change her interests, but this isn’t something I’d want her to wear—and I think it’s mostly due to the shoes. I just don’t like the shoes at all.  I think a sandal in the green color featured in the dress would have been a nice option. | continue reading..

It was double the Valentino, double the fun for Keira Knightley last night when she celebrated her new movie “Anna Karenina” with two exclusive screenings in New York City wearing designs from the latest collections by the beloved fashion house.

Before the English beauty joined her costars in couture, she attended a private showing during the 2012 Variety Screening Series wearing a lovely knee-length frock from the Spring 2013 collection. Rose Byrne came out to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Chanel Fine Jewelry “Bijoux de Diamants” collection, created by Gabrielle Chanel in 1932, last night in New York City as the fashion house presented 80 new High-Jewelry pieces.

For her look of the night, the 33-year-old Australian actress selected a diamond pattern black silk-chiffon cocktail dress from the Chanel Spring/Summer 2012 Haute Couture Collection with pleated layers.

Blake Lively made her first public appearance since getting married last month when she hit the black carpet last night for the Chanel “Bijoux de Diamants” 80th anniversary soirèe, held in New York City, as Chanel Fine Jewelry presents 80 new High-Jewelry pieces for the collection that was originally created by Gabrielle Chanel in 1932.

The 25-year-old actress, and former face for the French fashion house, took the night off from filming the final season of “Gossip Girl” to get dolled up in a gorgeous light grey-and-pink pocket cocktail dress with pleated sides and striking silver metallic detailing, from the Fall 2012 Haute Couture collection.

Diane Kruger scored a brand new look from the Chanel Spring/Summer 2013 collection when she stepped out in New York for the 80th anniversary celebration of the “Bijoux de Diamants” collection, originally created by Gabrielle Chanel in 1932.

The 36-year-old blonde beauty rocked a beautiful, bold and blue strapless embellished cocktail pocket dress. I love the shimmery beading of multidimensional oceanic color; it was one of my favorite looks from the entire presentation.

Alexa Chung hit the black carpet last night to help celebrate the 80th birthday of the Chanel‘s “Bijoux de Diamants” collection in New York City; Chanel Fine Jewelry presented 80 new High-Jewelry pieces for the anniversary of the collection, originally created by Gabrielle Chanel in 1932.

The English model and television personality opted for a ivory full skirted dress from the Cruise 2013 collection, which featured three-quarter length sleeves and lovely delicate colorful embellishing at the bodice and cuffs of the sleeves.

There were no frills about the rest of Alexa’s look as she kept the focus on her dress.  She wore her shoulder-length brunette tresses out in a natural wave before finishing off with Chanel Fine Jewelry and a glittering pair of silver cap toe pumps.
